BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Brunei celebrated the 64th anniversary of its royal armed forces with a series of events across the nation, featuring a grand military parade, exhibitions, and school activities, local media has reported.
According to the local daily Borneo Bulletin on Tuesday, the DES School in Brunei recently hosted a special event to celebrate the courage and commitment of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF). Students wore navy, army, and air force uniforms and engaged in activities highlighting national service and honoring the RBAF's role in maintaining peace.
According to reports, among the series of celebrations across the sultanate, the grandest event was the military parade held on Saturday at Brunei's Muara Naval Base. Brunei's Crown Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the deputy sultan, attended the event and commended that the RBAF has shown remarkable progress.
A static exhibition was also held at Muara Naval Base. Royal Brunei Air Force personnel engaged with visitors, and a range of military assets and informative materials were displayed in the exhibition, reflecting the unique responsibilities of army units and highlighting the breadth of the air force's operational capability.
Brunei's Ministry of Defence said in a press release that this year's celebration, under the theme "Together United to Achieve the Nation's Aspirations," embodies the spirit of unity and the RBAF's commitment to uphold its core values alongside the Malay Islamic Monarchy philosophy, towards achieving Brunei Vision 2035.
